The air filter consists of an induction pipe (2) joining into a two part housing (3). The two part housing has a pot shaped lower section (4) with a clean air outlet and a lid which fastens onto the lower part rim. The filter housing is of flexible plastic and contains a disposable paper cartridge filter as in 2630875. The lower part rim has a number of equally spaced arresting cams (11) which extend radially outwards and each have two side supports. The lid (7) has an annular casing (22) which grips over the lower part rim (5). The casing has a number of apertures (24) corresponding to the projecting cams (11). An annular collar (35) is concentric to the casing (22) to form an annular groove (36) with a projecting shoulder (38). The lower section rim (5) rests against the shoulder and extends radially outwards. The measurement is such that any possible mould overflow does not contact the filter lid.
