The cap for the spring bars in mattress frames consists of a rectangular housing (10) open on one side and is supported on the bearing strip (20) of the frame by resilient support webs (13, 14) which originate in the lower wall of the housing and are connected together at their free ends by means of a support plate (17) which together with the support webs (13, 14) are mounted in the open side of the housing (10). The plate and two webs (13, 14) only extend over a part of the depth of the housing whilst the ends (15, 16) of the plate (17) which protrude laterally beyond the webs are adapted for direct connection to the facing upper side of the bearing strip (20). Shortening the support webs and plate saves material and improves the resilience of the housing in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the spring bar held therein.
|
