The end closure body (8) has in its interior a passage (9) for the cable core, which is constructed from the wire insulation (4), conductor smoothing means (5) and the conductor (6). A collar (10) which covers bent back screening elements (7) is integrally formed at the end facing away from the cable end. The outer envelope surface of the collar (10) is passed through a bulge, which bounds the end-closure body (8), into a tubular projection (11). A field-control funnel (16), which consists of mechanically elastic, semiconductive material, is arranged in the end-closure body (8). That part (16a) of the field-control funnel (16) which is like a truncated cone is embedded on all sides in the insulating material of the end-closure body (8), while its cylindrical neck (16b) together with a part of its outer envelope surface forms, in an exposed manner, a section of the passage (9) and is in close touching contact with the outer conductive layer (3). A lead wire (17) is introduced without any cavity in the field-control funnel (16), approximately as far as the level of the bead line (12). The upper end of said lead wire (17) is constructed as an eye (17a), while it has a plurality of bends (17b) in the region above the collar (10). That part of the lead wire (17) which is adjacent thereto is passed to the exterior, through the collar (10), being directly electrically connected to the bent back screening elements (7). <IMAGE> |
