1504960 Overhead rails R BLASER and TRANSLIFT GES FUER HEBE UND FOERDERANLAGEN mbH 16 Oct 1975 [17 Oct 1974] 42377/75 Heading B7L A track for an elevated railway comprises a rail of U-shaped cross-section 1, 2, 3 having inwardly extending flanges 4 and 5 at the free ends of its limbs 2 and 3, U-section parts 15, 16 and 20, 21 being provided on the flanges 4, 5 and at the lateral edges of the base 1 of the rail for engagement by supporting structures. Within the rail can run wheels 6 of a vehicle 8 which receives power and/or control signals from conductor rails 28 supported by insulator 25 within the rail. The rail also accommodates a rack 14 for engagement by a powered gearwheel 13 on the vehicle 8. As shown, the parts 15, 16 and 20, 21 are of U-shaped cross-section having inwardly directed flanges 17, 18 and 22, 23. The rail may be employed as shown or inverted to support a suspended vehicle. |
