PURPOSE:To realize measurement of pulse rate without enlarging the constitution, by providing a pulse detecting part and changeably connecting with the sounding body of alarm sound part. CONSTITUTION:A pulse detecting part 3 consisting of a pulse detecting device 31 and a waveform shaping device 32 is provided, and connected with a sounding body 21 of an alarm sound part 2 through a selecting switch 41. In this setting, after changing the switch 41 to connect the waveform shaping device 32 with the sounding body 21, when the fingertip of the person intended to measure the pulse rate is brought close to the pulse detecting part 3, the light emitted from the pule detecting device 31 is transmitted through the finger tip and diffused, and is reflected to become a singnal modulated according to the pule rate. This signal is received, and the reception signal drives the sounding body 21, which emits audible modulated signal sound. By counting such audible modulated signal sounds, the pulse rate is counted.
