1379630 Unsaturated nitriles SNAM PROGETTI SpA 22 Aug 1972 [2 Sept 1971] 39140/72 Heading C2C Unsaturated nitriles are prepared by reacting (e.g. at 400-500‹ C.) an olefin, ammonia and oxygen (or a gaseous mixture including oxygen) in the presence of one or more, gaseous, saturated C 1-5 hydrocarbons (e.g. CH 4 ) and an antimonybased catalyst, there being used a total of 1-50 moles of the saturated hydrocarbon(s) per mole of olefin. The reaction is preferably effected using 1-5 moles of O 2 and 0À8-1À5 moles of NH 3 per mole of olefin. Preferred catalysts are Fe-Sb and Sn-Sb oxycompounds optionally containing as promoter one or more of Cu, Ag, Te, Bi, Nb, Ce, Mn, W, Mo, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd, U and Th. The examples describe the preparation of acrylonitrile by ammoxidation of propylene. |
