The process for creating a ballast bed while railway track is being laid involves a device for shaping and ramming the layer of ballast (2). This can travel on the permanent way substructure (1) by being supported against it on both sides of the ballast bed being made. It incorporates a large-capacity bunker, emptying material onto the sector ahead of the shaping plates and rammer. There is an overlapping transport device, movable in the same way, above the shaping plates and manner. This incorporates containers directly loaded from the wagons (5), and able to effect direct unloading of ballast stones into the bunker, for shaping and ramming in place. 2,600 m3 of ballast can be laid in 12 hours, covering a sector 2,600 m long.
|
