The crane is mounted on a vehicle, the lifting end of the jib (1) being over the cab when travelling. The turntable (3) is at the rear and carries the other end of the jib by means of support struts (2). In front of these and parallel to them is the hydraulic operating cylinder (4), pivoted to the jib (7) and the turntable (11). When required for use, this hydraulic cylinder raises the jib and its supports. The pivot (8) for the jib is then vertically in line with the upper pivot (13) for the jib support and its stay (5), together with the lower pivot (14) for the stay.
