<p>The crushing and compacting machine is for items made of brittle materials such as glass or ceramics. The machine consists of a material entry section /1/ crushing section /2/ and storing section /3/. The items to be crushed are placed into opening /10/ of the entry section and gradually pushed into the entry opening /13/ fitted with a splinter protection and drop onto a trough-like grate consisting of a number of curved bars. Inside the trough a heavy plate /20/ is rotating at high speed around a horizontal axis driven via bevel gear by electric motor /23/. The item is crushed partly by the impact of the heavy plate and partly the edges of the rotating plate crush the broken pieces further and squeeze them through the slots between the bars of the trough-like grate.</p> |
