The average horizontal velocity of the bed particles is 0À2 to 2 m/s. The bed material, e.g. sand or ferroalloys is fed to the channel 4 by a member 3. Granules and bed material are separated by a screen 6, and heat is recovered by a coil 11 in a further fluidized bed 11, for the bed material, which is then recycled to a container 2. The mass of the particles fed to the fluidized bed is one to eight times greater than the mass of molten material fed to the bed.</p> |
