PROCESS FOR REMOVING WATER-SOLUBLE IONIC COMPOUNDS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS BY MEANS OF ULTRAFILTRATION

The removal of water-soluble ionic compounds from aqueous solutions is described. To the aqueous solutions is first added a water-soluble salt former which is oppositely charged with respect to the ionic compounds to be removed. Ultrafiltration under pressure is then carried out. The process for removing water-soluble ionic compounds can be used for the purification of effluents from dyeworks and tanneries.
