1452058 Wiring harness RIST'S WIRES & CABLES Ltd 17 Jan 1974 [13 Feb 1973] 7112/72 Heading H2C A wiring harness comprises a thermoplastic e.g. pvc backing strip 11, a number of conductive leads 12 with thermoplastic (e.g. pvc) sheaths which are fused along substantially the whole of their lengths, to the strip 11, and a mounting device 13, whereby the harness can be mounted on a support panel or the like in use. The mounting device includes a planar member 14 extending between the leads 12 and the strip 11 and fused thereto. The mounting device 13 extends transversely to the length of the harness and projects at its ends beyond the lateral edges of the strip 11 to define lugs 15 each of which includes a barbed stud which could be integral 16 as shown in Fig. 1 or detachable (17) as in Fig. 2 (not shown). In a modification shown in Fig. 5 the mounting device 13a is a barbed stud 18 with a generally planar head 19. A method of manufacturing the harness is described whereby the leads 12 and mounting device are placed in position on a platform and the backing strip 11 is dispensed from a spool, the leads and strip being fused together after being heated.
