The h.v. cable (2) has its conductor (3) located between an outer sheath (4) and concentric inner sheat (5). The conductor is connected to a cylindrical contact bolt (6) at its end. The electrically conducting bolt has a small hole (16) at one end and a large hole (17) at the other into which the end of the cable fits after the outer sheath has been removed from the cable's end. The inside of the large hole has teeth or cutting edges lying parallel to the hole's axis in order to bite up against the shoulder (10) at the transition between the small and large holes.
