<p>A separator for blood specimens contains a filter arrangement with an air-tight piston slidable within a cylindrical, extraction tube (R) enclosed at one end. A filter, placed in front of a passageway in the piston, is permeable for serum but impermeable for the blood residue. A transparent riser tube (5) is provided on the top of the passageway. A pressure piece (6) is assigned to the filter arrangement (1) to force it upwards. The piece (6) consists of a pressure plate (8) integrally joined to a cylindrical sleeve (7) extending downwards with a rib (10) along its length. A bore (11) extends through the length of this rib (10) and through the plate (8). The upper end (14) of the bore (11) widens conically to receive the conical tip of a suction device.</p> |
