A safety cover for a gas outlet comprising a mounting plate for securement to a gas outlet pipe and a cover hinged to the plate whereby the cover may be positioned over the outlet and pivotally moved out of the way to permit access to the gas outlet. Typically, the cover is color-coded to identify the source of gas available at cite of use.
