1478440 Firefighting appliance KONRAD ROSENBAUER KG 29 Sept 1975 [30 Sept 1974] 39733/75 Heading ASA An appliance for discharging fire-extinguishing agent comprises a discharge pipe 1, which is pivotally movable about a vertical axis by motor 2 and pivotally movable about a horizontal axis by motor 3, the pivoting of the pipe 1 being controlled by a control lever 10, which rotates in unison with the pipe 1 about the vertical axis and thereby indicates the instant angular position of 1 about its vertical axis, wherein the control lever 10 comprises a fixed part 13 and a part 14 pivotable in relation to 13 about a hinge 16 in a housing 17, which housing contains four control switches 18 arranged so that movement of 14 in a horizontal direction actuates motor 2 via a control device 19 to rotate 1 about the vertical axis and movement in a vertical direction actuates motor 3 for rotation about the horizontal axis, there being also provided a second control lever 20 similar to 10 and parallelly connected thereto by rack and pinions 28, 30 and 27, 29 joined by Bowden cable 31 and carrying a further set of control switches 26. The angular elevation of the pipe 1 is indicated to the operator by the angular position of lever 10 transmitted via axially movable rod 11. A further control station comprising a switching lever 32, which does not indicate the angular position of 1 may also be provided. |
