Internal combustion engine with exhaust reactor - with reactor casing of elliptical section narrowing to an opening for fluid passage

I;C; engine comprises a work chamber, and assemblies for treating the inlet and exhaust fluids, at least one of which partly comprises a casing with a peripheral wall of elliptical section which, in planar view, has sides which curve gradually and narrow to a blunt end which forms an opening for passage of the fluid. The fluid pref. passes through the assembly in one direction. The casing walls are at least partly made of cert-insulating material, or the casing has a self-supporting ceramic structure. The assembly pref. consists of an exhaust gas reactor, and incorporates means for variably restricting the fluid stream. Operation allows purification of the exhaust gases, and conservation of fuel and of the power generated.
