<p>The engine has two cylindrical rotors (A, B) revolving in opposite directions to each other, and each rotor has a rectangular recess cut out of it. The rotors are in contact with each other and the recesses form a large chamber as they come together. The casing has a passage (1) for a sparking plug between the rotors. There is a port (2, 4) and one side of each rotor for admission of fuel air mixture and an extract port (3, 5) on the other side of each rotor. Each rotor compresses a charge and brings it towards the centre where it meets the charge from the other rotor. Ignition takes place when the rotor recesses are together and causes the rotors to revolve in opposite directions.</p> |
