<p>A flow meter provides continuous and instanteous measurement of fluid flow. The fluid passes through a chamber whose outlet is controlled by a pivoting paddle and by upstream and downstream pressure differences. Two annular chambers (2, 3) are separated by a section (4) containing several calibrated holes (18). One chamber (3) contains a pivoting paddle on a central head (14) forming a dynamic control compartment which communicates with the upstream compartment (8) in the other chamber through a window (17) while a static resistance chamber (16) communicates with a downstream compartment (10) via calibrated holes. Pressure differences are applied to the paddle opposing spring (25) action to obtain balace. Angular position of the paddle is indicated on a dial (30).</p> |
