Antibiotic C - 15003 PL4 is prepd. by culturing an organism beloning to the genus Norcardia in a culture medium contg. assimilable carbohydrate and digestible N sources and to which leucine and a deriv. thereof is added. Thus, 40 parts by vol. of an inoculation culture medium with a pH of 7.0 and comprising glucose 1.0, Bacto-tryptone 2.0, and Bacto-yeast ext. 1.2, was added to an Erlenmeyer flask with a capacity of 200 parts by vol. After sterilization, the medium was inoculated with Nocardia species No. C-15003(IFO 13726, ATCC 31281) and then incubated with shaking. The total prodn. of C-15003 amounted to 12 μg/ml and the ratio of P-4, corresponding to the total material was 80 wt. %.
