<p>The flexible blade switch is operated by two opposing magnetic fields and is employed in a telephone handset to make the connection between the handset and the telephone line. A flexible blade switch (4) connected into a telephone line circuit (5) is mounted in the base of a telephone. This switch has normally closed contacts which are opened by the presence of a magnetic field from a permanent magnet (6) in the handset (2). When the handset is lifted for operation the contacts close to make connection to the telephone line.</p> |
