<p>The prefabricated inspection tank (1) for domestic sewerage and sanitary installations has an outlet spigot (3) which is mounted on a ball and socket joint. The haunch of the pipe barrel is spherically segmental (2) and sits in a circular opening in the tank wall. The arrangement enables the inclination of the spigot to be varied through approx. 20 deg. in the vertical plane, thus, giving significant tolerance in making connections. The tank also has a top opening (9) of which the lip is housed by a channel (11, 12) incorporated on the rim of the cover (10). The ball and socket joint may be secured by a ring (4) which is bolted to the tank-wall to secure and lock the joint. The tank opening (9) may also receive shaft extension pieces and the tank may be of PVC. The outlet pipe (3) may spigot into asbestos cement pipes and socket onto PVC pipes.</p> |
