The cable end termination for high-frequency coaxial cables comprises a cylindrical insert (6), which may be part of a plug fitting etc, into which the prepared end of a coaxial HF cable (5) is inserted. The cylinder has an inner contact ring (8) slotted and stamped to form tabs which are bent inwards at an angle. The cable is inserted so that the outer aluminum conductor (4) is gripped securely by the angled tabs. The outer sheathing (5) passes for a short distance into a cup in the end of the cylindrical sleeve and the centre conductor (2) passes through a clearance hole in the other end. The contact tabs have chamfered edges which assisst in breaking down any oxide layer on the cable outer conductor.
