<p>A generator is surrounded by a shell which is open at the top and closed at the bottom and has an air discharge valve. A rotor is mounted vertically within it. The bottom end of the rotor shaft is supported on a ball bearing. A disc with inclined blades cut into it, is rigidly attached to the rotor immediately above the bottom bearing. A plain disc not fixed to the rotor above the tope of the rotor limits the vertical lift of the rotor. The propeller action of the bottom disc lifts the rotor as it revolves and the resulting air pressure is released through the air discharge valve. The flow of air which this causes produces the necessary cooling.</p> |
