The mounting of a quartz crystal oscillator uses parallel conductors to a carrier plate. A rectangular section quartz crystal (3) has flat plate electrodes on the main surfaces. Retaining wires are secured by soldering to silvered contact points. The wires are produced of a material with a low thermal expansion coefficient and may be gold plated. The wires are spot soldered to a carrier block with conductor strips on either side. The carrier block is secured with rigid wires to output terminals mounted in a base block.
