Protective circuit for engine driven power generator - has relay limiting fuel supply and generator excitation during or after cold start

The protective circuit is intended for an electric power generator unit consisting of a combustion engine and a generator driven thereby. It comprises a starter switch (5), a positioning element (24) for the control of fuel or mixture supply, and de-exciting device (25) to reduce excitation of the generator. During or after the cold start of the engine, the starter switch (5) is connected with a relay (8) which controls the positioning element and the de-exciting device so as to reduce the fuel supply and the generator excitation. The relay (8) may be connected (9) to a terminal (17) of the switch (5) via one-way element (12) preventing current flow to the terminal, and may have a hold-contact (7) connected to a switch terminal (15/54) via a switch (6).
