Attachment socket for car safety belt - has internal light source which is permanently on enabling user to locate belt end fitting

The attachment socket (1) for a car safety belt is provided with a funnel-like recess (3) to receive the end fitting of the belt. A rectangular push button (4) actuates the belt release mechanism. An internal light source (2) emits light through a small window (5) in the side of the socket (1). The light (2) is always switched on during darkness so that the driver or passenger can always see clearly to fasten the seat belt. Having the fixing socket constantly illuminated during darkness is more convenient than the type of socket which switches off the light as soon as the end fitting is pressed into position.
