Knitting machine control - clears command transmission from memory to needle selection magnets through optical transducers and logic circuitry

A control circuit for a knitting machine with electromagnetic needle selection has a shaft position coder to clear the transmission of instructions from a memory to the machine in synchronism with the presence of consecutive selection elements. This coder includes a first optical transducer to generate a signal when such an element enters the working range, and a second optical transducer to generate a signal with a delay by a given constant shaft angle. Logic units initiate the clear signal as a function of the leading edge of the first signal and maintain it, until a trigger edge of the second signal arrives. This creates a simple circuitry with high functional reliability for the exact time control of the command pulses relative to the rotation of the machine shaft.
