The silo discharge mechanism has a rotor on a vertical axis, from which cutter arms extend at right angles. The arms are rotated about their axes by bevel gears in the hollow rotor housing and a motor vertical shaft. - Each arm (14, 15) has its own bevel gear (12, 13) meshing with that (7) on the drive shaft (8), and also with a further bevel gear (9) coaxial to the drive shaft gear so as to form a differential drive (6). This further gear drives an additional rotor (2), with arms extending at right angles to its axis and extending into the material in the silo.
