Respirator gas cylinder valve - has gas outlet with stem carrying non-return valve pushed into open position by consumer fitting

The valve for respirator gas cylinders is fitted with an additional non return valve which prevents ingress of impurities into the cylinder. The basic opening or closing of the cylinder outlet is effected by a handwheel operated spindle valve (3). The outlet channel (14) is in downstream direction enlarged to accommodate the disc (15) of the non return valve pushed against seat (17) by spring (16). The valve disc (15) is fitted with stem (18) which penetrates the outlet channel of fitting (6) and protrudes beyond the face of the enlargement for the consumer connection. When the consumer is connected to the cylinder, enlarged end of the non return valve stem comes to rest against shoulder in connecting fitting and the non return valve opens giving free passage to the gas.
