The cable harness tester checks whether individual wires are connected to correct pins, and whether the connection is good. A base plate (3) is provided, on which is mounted a plug board (20) for second sockets (21) at the cable harness end. Individual contacts (12) are connected to sockets (11) and arranged in a circular row (13), and second contacts (22) are connected to second sockets (21) and arranged in a second circular row (23), concentric with the first, with contacts belonging to the beginning and end of an individual wire being next to each other. A motor (5) driven wiper (51) runs over the two rows of contacts (13, 23). Its two contacts are connected through the motor (5) winding to the two terminals of a supply sources.
