PRODUCTION OF ROTOR INTEGRAL WITH BLADE AND REPAIRING METHOD FOR ITS BLADE

PURPOSE: To manufacture or repair integrally bladed rotors with efficiency and precision by forming a repairing blade with a collar along its periphery and near its joint face that abuts a stub. CONSTITUTION: An existing blade is removed except a stub 16 that projects from a disk face 14 as part of the existing blade and has a joint face where a repairing blade 18 is bonded. The repairing blade 18, which has a collar 30 formed near its joint face that abuts the stub 16 and along its periphery, is positioned in close proximity to the stub 16 via the collar 30, through which pressure is applied to these joint faces. These joint faces are softened until metal fusion or the joined portions are locally heated up to the temperature that causes bonding. The collar 30 is at last removed from the bonded repairing blade 18 by a machining process. The technique thus offers efficient and precise repairs of the integrally bladed rotor.
