1510691 Singing suppression ELEKTROAKUSZIIKAI GYAR 25 April 1975 [5 June 1974] 17319/75 Heading H4J A variable delay line (Fig. 3) is inserted in a path between a microphone and loud-speaker, a control input of the line being fed by the output of a modulator 54 (Fig. 2) which receives as its inputs signals f s and f y from an auxiliary generator and control generator respectively. The auxiliary generator 52 is arranged to produce a square wave of frequency f x less than 20 Hz. The control generator 53 produces an output which is of variable frequency and/or amplitude. It may produce a sawtooth type waveform, or a waveform with a random waveform and of less than 20 Hz. Alternatively the control generator may be in the form of a signal converter transforming the input audio frequency signal from the microphone. The temporal shape, value and frequency of the control generator may be adjustable in order to match the arrangement to the needs of a particular auditorium.
