1444666 Machinery safety devices MASCHINENFABBIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG AG 2 Oct 1974 [10 Oct 1973] 42844/74 Heading F2J Spring-loaded safety switch devices 28 to 39 in an offset printing machine prevent operation of the machine unless guard covers 16 to 27 are in position, each safety switch (Figs. 2 to 4) being positioned in an "ON" position (Fig. 2), for operation of the machine, when its associated guard cover is closed and being movable either side of this "ON" position to a first or second "OFF" position to render the machine inoperative, when the guard is opened, to release the switch (Fig. 3) or on unauthorized operation i.e. downward pressing or blocking of the switch (Fig. 4) respectively. Sets of three of these switches are arranged in series, each set having a manually operated bridging switch 48-50 (Fig. 5) arranged in parallel therewith whereby setting and observation running of the machine may be carried out with one or more of the guard covers opened, the bridging switches being positioned well clear of the moving parts to prevent the operation moving into the danger zone. As shown, Figs. 2 to 4, each of the switches 28 to 39 open the electrical circuit when moved to either of their "OFF" positions, whilst in Figs. 6 to 8, each of the switches closes the electrical circuit when moved to either of their "OFF" positions. |
