Hose made of spirally wound strip - has external reinforcement of C-section gripping overlapping edges of strip

The pliable hose comprises a flat non-metallic strip wound into overlapping relationship (15) to form a tube. The tube is surrounded by reinforcing spiral of metallic strip (12) of C-cross-section, the open part (18, 20) of the 'C' lying at the inside of the spiral. The overlapping edge portions of the strip are entered into the interior of the C-section, and this section crimped to grip these edge portions into a sealing relationship. The overlapping portions may be coiled one around the other and may include between them a metallic reinforcing wire.
