The wheel-brace for use on automobile wheel-nuts has a hand-lever of the conventional cranked (4) form, and a pivoting extension bar (2). The extension bar pivots into a deployed position extending the front radial length (3') of the crank (4) and, thus, increase the effective lever arm. The front radial arm (3') of the brace-lever (4) may be of 'U' section, and the extension bar (2) may pivot about an axle pin (3) which is set between the legs of the 'U'. The bar retracts into a position where it is housed in the trough of the 'U' section. The terminal zones of the trough walls may be inclined to form clips which retain the bar in either position.
