PURPOSE:To make it possible to monitor vibration at a remote place, even though an object to be measured is coated by a coating, through which the vibration is not propagated, by protruding a vibration propagating member on the object, whose vibration is to be measured, and making it possible to detect the vibration of the surface of the vibration propagating member by a contactless vibration meter. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of a pipe is coated by a heat insulating material 3a. An opening 3b is formed especially at a part of the heat insulating material 3a under the state the vibration of the pipe 3 is not propagated to the outside owing to the presence of the heat insulating material 3a. A vibration propagating member 20, which is provided on the outer surface of the pipe 3 in a protruded manner, is made to leak to the outside through the opening 3b. The vibration propagating member 20 is formed by a material having sufficiently high rigidity. In this way, even though the object to be measured is coated by the coating, through which the vibration is not propagated, or shielded by another structure, the vibration can be monitored at a remote place. |
