The shaft is arranged in a machine frame, driven transverse to the working direction and carries a number of striker blades. The shaft consists of two separate, concentric parts, with the inner part forming the drive shaft. They are coupled by a releasable connection. The part which carries the striker blades is formed from paired, continuous or split half shells on which one or more striker blades are fitted in a staggered manner. The striker blades (61, 62) are replaceably fixed to the half shells (53, 54) in the circumferential direction of the bladed shaft (51). To support the striker blades (61, 62) the half shells (53, 54) have side flanges (64, 65), in which pins (63) are held which pass through the blades (61, 62).
