An economical means for manufacturing stack or layer capacitors is disclosed wherein a metallized synthetic material band is separated lengthwise into films of the width needed for a capacitor, and by turning these films 90 DEG by means of appropriate rollers and laying them on top of one another on a collecting plate or a collection disk and then further processing them as a film packet unit into capacitors.
