<p>The mine roof support and face conveyor arrangement has a height adjustable telescopic support (3) mounted on a floor member (32). It carries a roof member mounted behind the face conveyor (2) with an arrangement for monitoring the distance (A) between them. This includes a signal emitting device (2) mounted on either, e.g. on the telescopic support, which emits acoustic, optical or electromagnetic signals which are received by a suitable receiving device (5) on the other device, e.g. on the conveyor. Alternatively, a combined signal emitting and receiving device can be mounted on the vertical support (3) and a reflecting surface mounted on the conveyor.</p> |
