<p>Textile web steam fixing appts. is provided with an endless conveyor which transports the web through the chamber, the conveyor being provided with needles which are made of a material having low thermal conductivity. Pref. the needles, which engage the pile of the carpet whose backing has been printed, are made of a suitable synthetic plastics material and the needles may be upstanding from a support rail. Needles embrace other embodiments which permit support of the pile or web at discrete locations. Used for fixing dyed carpets, knitted or woven textile or matted fibre webs.
