<p>Prodn. of substrates with light-sensitive substrate films, consisting of subbed transparent opaque substrate, an intermediate barrier and/or adhesive layer and a flexible, transparent light-sensitive substrate film, which is resistant to water in the copying process is described. For sensitisation with mainly aq. solns., a receptive layer is applied, which consits of a microporous, voluminous, cohesive film with capillaries. This is produced from a film-forming water-insol. polymer contg. little or no plasticiser. It is treated with the sensitiser soln. opt. after prolonged storage. In addn. to light-sensitive and opt. other image-forming materials, this soln. contains a gelling plasticiser and/or plasticising resin and/or structure modifier for the polymer. It may also contain natural and/or synthetic resins and/or finely-divided plastics dispersions which are compatible with water, cross-linking agent for the polymer, stabiliser and absorption promoter for the soln. and a small amt. of water-miscible organic solvent. After absorption and drying at 50-60 degrees C, this converts the microporous material into a light-sensitive, transparent, elastic and homogeneous substrate film. Used esp. in the prodn. of one- and 2-component diazo copying materials used for making transparencies, contrast, half-tone x-ray and vesicular copies and for printing purposes.</p> |
