The gas-isolated cable is coupled to a gas container or compressor that supplies extra gas to the cable if a leak occurs in its sheathing and thereby prevents water vapour entering. To limit the flow of gas one or more flow restrictors are located between two pressure reducing valves built into the line supplying the gas to the cable as in 1590313. - At least one (DV) of the flow restrictors is adjustable. A flowmeter (F1) is located after the flow restrictor (s) and is used in the setting of the max. flow allowed. A manometer (F3) is connected after the flowmeter.
