<p>Lacquer coating applied to a substrate for cutting a picture and/or sound track can be hardened by means of radiant energy, partic. UV or an electron beam, and pref. consists of synthetic lacquer based on polyester acrylic cpds. The lacquered film in which a track is cut with a cutting stylus can be used as a starting material for presses or dies produced by electroplating, for mfg. e.g. records of thermoplastic material. Compared with nitrocellulose lacquers, the above lacquers contain no solvent or very little, and therefore required a very short drying time. The pref. compsn. is at least as efficient as nitrocellulose w.r.t. cutting properties.</p> |
