The bottom-emptying railway wagon has a hinged base panel on one side, a roller engaging a curved tipping guide surface. There is a base plate (4a) fixed to the downward folding base panel, and this can be arched up into a troughed shape at the two ends and along the side facing the hinges. The base panel is inserted behind the overlapping box walls (2), enabling the bulk goods to be discharged without leaving any residue behind. Complete emptying of such material from a wagon with standardised fittings is facilitated.
