PURPOSE:The titled additive, containing an adduct of a phenolsulfonic acid (salt), etc., with an alkylene oxide, capable of enhancing the powdered coal concentration in an aqueous slurry coal and imparting improve flow characteristic within low- - high-temperature regions. CONSTITUTION:An additive containing an adduct of (A) a phenolsulfonic acid (salt), alkylphenolsulfonic acid (salt) or a condensate of the acids with formalin with (B) an alkylene oxide, preferably ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide, preferably 10-500mol adduct.
