PURPOSE:To accurately and quickly send by abopting a constitution that an inputted data is stored once in a memory and the stored data is sent to a telephone line by using a DTMF(Dual Tone Multi-frequency) signal. CONSTITUTION:An outgoing receiver 52 sending or receiving a DTMF signal is provided and a CPU 56 discriminates the necessity of taking a send copy at the same time as the start of data transmission or at the end of transmisstion. When the sent copy taking is designated by an input device 53, the CPU 56 outputs a control signal to a printer 46 via an interface 57 when the interface 51 detects the inversion (or re-inversion) of the polarity of a DC loop of a telephone line 6 or a key corresponding to a data communication start button is operated and the sent data (stored in a memory 55) is printed out by a printer 46 as a character.
