<p>The nozzle is fitted to a water hose to provide a jet which retains its shape. It is in two parts, the outer being a parallel cylindrical tube (2) with a tapered nose cone (3), the outlet orifice being smaller. Inside the cylindrical tube is another tube (4), positioned centrally in the longitudinally axis and held in place by radial stays (5). This central tube is tapered, the water outlet end being larger than the inlet. Thus the water is divided into two portions with the speed of the inner portion being slowed down. This causes the faster outer portion to tend towards the nozzle axis so forming a narrow jet of water.</p> |
