Cement calcining plant - using gravity to feed cement from preheating cyclones through a precalcining chamber

Preheater is described for a cement calcining plant, consisting of four sets of cyclone separators, where part of the raw material leaving the second set of cyclones flows via gravity into a precalcining chamber. After leaving the chamber, the material flows, also via gravity, into the gas duct leading to the last set of preheating cyclones. In a conventional plant, a rotary drum furnace is followed by a cooler in which air is used to cool the clinker. The hot air thus obtd. is fed through a filter and a blower providing the air pressure necessary to blow the crude cement into the chamber. By using gravity feed, the invention eliminates the need for a filter and blower.
