Particulate detergent compns. (I) consist of surfactant-detergent material, and adjunct in granular form, the granules being prepd. by mechanical working of a mixture of an organic extrudable solid and appropriate adjunct. The granules comprises 0.2-49% (pref. 0.5-10%) by wt. of (I). They must be compatible with the rest of the detergent compn., and must be soluble, or at least dispersible, in an aq. soln. of (I) at 20 degrees C. 0.1-50% (pref. 0.5-20%) by wt. of the granules is adjunct, the remainder of the granule compn. normally consisting of a non-soap, surfactant-contng. detergent. The granules weigh 0.05-100 mg. and can form various physical shapes, e.g. flakes, pellets ribbons, threads, and pref. noodles (15 mm. x 0.5 mm). The storage stability of granules can be improved by coating then with a suitable material, such as sugars, non-ionic detergents and polyvinyl alcohol.
|
